Best Soundbar For Xbox Series X Reviews

Razer Leviathan Dolby 5.1 Surround Soundbar (Image credit: Amazon)

Razer Leviathan Dolby 5.1 Surround Soundbar

Best Budget Frienldy

Razer? Oh, they’re the cool cats crafting gaming gear that’s like turbocharging your gameplay—seriously sleek stuff. The first soundbar on our list is the Razer Leviathan Dolby 5.1 Surround Soundbar, which will immerse you in gaming with 3D audio precision. With this Razer soundbar, you will enjoy booming explosions and directional cues while playing games on the Xbox Series X console.

The design of this Razer Leviathan is much more premium and compact, with overall dimensions of 19.6 inches wider, 4 inches taller, and inches deeper. If you have one, it is possible to place a soundbar under a monitor or HDTV. The soundbar features high-tech aesthetics and Razer’s dark design, and there is a black metallic grille for the safety of speaker drivers from dust. Gaming with RGB lights gives you a sense of winner, so this Razer soundbar features RGB backlit with controls that look much more elegant. The Matte black plastic body features Razer Leviathan, which is much more robust and lives long. Really, this soundbar will give you a sense of the premium gaming component.

This world is filled with remote control technology, but the Razer Leviathan soundbar does not include a remote control, so you have to use Buttons for controlling volume and other functions (found on the soundbar top). You will find some dedicated buttons on the Razer Leviathan soundbar for Dolby virtual surround and equalizer presets (Gaming, Music, Movies Mode). Bass is important for Valorant, GTA 5, or Pubg-like gamings, so this Razer soundbar includes a Wired subwoofer for punchy bass, and Bluetooth connectivity is supported. With the Razer Leviathan 5.1 soundbar, you can hear footsteps and movement of other players if you are playing first-person shooters and stealth games like Pubg, Valorant, or CS-GO, so the soundbar will help you (in sound waves) to anticipate enemy approaches and react accordingly.

Overall, especially for gamers who play games on the Xbox series X, solid audio performance is crucial, so this Razer Leviathan 5.1 Dolby Atmos soundbar will provide good bass handling and clear dialogue, and you will hear and enjoy every moment of gaming. But while testing it on Wooster audio lab, I found that it retains clarity in vocals and higher frequency sounds and does not provide high-end crispness as other gaming soundbars provide. Under $200, Razer Leviathan is the best soundbar for Xbox series X and has the ability to handle bass-heavy tracks easily.

Panasonic SoundSlayer (Image credit: Amazon)

Panasonic SoundSlayer

Best Value

After the Razer Leviathan 5.1 soundbar, my next recommendation is the Panasonic SoundSlayer soundbar short review. Panasonic is a popular brand, so its SoundSlayer Dolby Atmos soundbar will amaze you. The SoundSlayer soundbase is super compact, and its sleek, all-black design features a cloth grill. Plus, it’s got a 6-inch gap for the upward-firing speaker.

On SoundSlayer, you’ll notice four LEDs on the gap that show different settings, including Clear-Mode Dialog, Bluetooth, 3D Surround (or Dolby Atmos), GN-Game/AV, or Tv. Just check out the right side of the SoundSlayer – you’ll spot four rubber buttons there. They’re for power, volume, and inputs. And guess what? There’s a handy little remote, too, which lets you easily tweak all the SoundSlayer soundbar settings. (Remote is easy to lose). With SoundSlayer, you can easily hear directional audio; weather the sound of an opponent flanking you or the direction of gunfire, you can easily locate threats.

For excellent external sound quality, the SoundSlayer soundbar has internal drivers, including an Upward-firing speaker for Dolby Atmos, Two 4cm forward-firing woofers, and an 8cm downward-firing sub for crystal clear sound. For easy and faster connectivity, the SoundSlayer soundbar features Three options, which are Bluetooth, HDMI (ARC port for 4K HDR passthrough), and Optical digital audio. The USB port is available for updates.

For testing the SoundSlayer Soundbar, I connected it to the Xbox console, and the sound quality was great. First, if I talk about Subwoofer performance, I can surely say bass was decent for PC gaming. Its Dolby Atmos speakers provide immersive sound quality.

You will also find some Three Gaming Modes (Game 1, Game 2, and Game 3) and standard music and Cinema modes. You’ve got the RPG mode for that epic cinematic vibe, FPS mode to make everything super clear, and a voice mode that boosts dialogues (though it might tweak other sounds). But here’s the scoop: When you wirelessly connect the Panasonic Soundbar to your Xbox Series X gaming console, the music might get a bit too screechy or toned down. Now, if you’re all about that 3D surround sound, ensure you’ve got some Dolby Atmos media playing – it’s the key! You can get the Panasonic SoundSlayer under the $300 range, but it performs better than the Razer Leviathan Soundbar.

Creative Sound Blaster Katana V2 (Image credit: Amazon)

Creative Sound Blaster Katana V2

Best With RGB

Now, after Panasonic SoundSlayer, I suggest you Creative Sound Blaster Katana V2, which is also great for the Xbox series X soundbar. When you put this Soundbar next to the Razer Leviathan, you’ll see it’s got that same compact vibe and sleek look, even rocking a cool angled shape. Now, picture this: the whole thing is about 23.6 inches wide, or 600mm if you’re into metrics. That size? It’s just right for sliding it right under your TV or monitor. And hey, the Katana V2 is no pushover – it’s tough and stable, with these neat little feet to keep the weight nice and even.

The Katana V2 features a Brushed Aluminium finish, which looks much more premium. You will find comprehensive connectivity options on Katana V2, including Bluetooth 5.0, USB-C, audio jack, optical port, and headset output, so use them to your personal preferences. After sound quality, what stands Katana V2 for gamers is its Programmable RGB lights (16.8 Million colors available) look beautiful, so Step into a world of color with Aurora Reactive lighting – your space, your vibes! With the coming smart remote control with Katana V2, you can control Bass, Display, RGB light color, and more. With Katana V2, you can easily hear environmental sounds in games with various audio cues Soundbar provides context and depth, so you can easily hear birds chirping, wind rustling, or machinery humming.

With Katana V2, there will be much more bass, thanks to the subwoofer. While testing and connecting Creative Sound Blaster Katana V2 with Xbox series X, the gameplay I enjoyed was GTA 5, and the sound on every Franklin and Trevor mission was amazing and detailed across mids, highs, and lows. I also found some Modes for media or games. So overall, under the $200 range, this Katana V2 soundbar sounds amazing and not only for gamers; you can also use it for podcasts and music of various genres.

Klipsch Cinema 800 Soundbar (Image credit: Amazon)

Klipsch Cinema 800 Soundbar

Seamlessly Upgrade

After Katana V2, I will tell you some aspects and features of the Klipsch Cinema 800 soundbar. Audio company Klipsch has a good reputation and is one of my favorite ones. The Xbox Series X is pretty flexible when it comes to audio options. You’ve got choices like HDMI and optical audio. Now, this Klipsch Cinema 800 soundbar we’re talking about? Well, it’s a breeze to connect because it’s got two HDMI inputs and a single HDMI eARC specifically for hooking up to your Smart TV. So, if you’re an Xbox console fan, you’ll be happy to know that Keeping things simple and compatible is the hallmark of Klipsch soundbars.

Playing games on an Xbox console or watching content that works with Dolby Atmos 3.1 on the Klipsch Cinema 800 provides a truly immersive audio experience. You will also find built-in Wi-Fi for network connectivity on Klipsch Cinema 800 for wireless streaming, and not only that, you can install the Klipsch Connect app to control this soundbar via smartphone and also use the app to access Spotify Connect.  You will also find Bluetooth options available on this Klipsch soundbar.

The Klipsch Cinema 800 features a prioritized design and, has an angular and raw look, and features a wood veneer Vinyl finish, which matches your gaming table and your cozy furniture (build quality is decent in price). The Klipsch Cinema 600 is a little cousin of the Klipsch Cinema 800 and does not perform as well as Big Brother as the Cinema 800 soundbar is bigger, more powerful, and supports Dolby Atmos. The Klipsch Cinema 800 has a 3.1 setup, and you will find left, right, and center channels and mid-woofers built-in for excellent gaming audio performance. Also, Klipsch Cinema 600 provides you with a clear hearing of Dialogue and Narration so you can better understand the story and objectives of games and hear character interactions, especially GTA 5 character Franklin. The Klipsch Cinema 800 lacks built-in height channels, which is a disadvantage.

While testing Klipsch Cinema 800 in the lab, I found and felt that its Dolby Atmos technology provides a wider and more captivating surround effect. The Klipsch Cinema 800 is a bit expensive as compared to the Katana V2 and Razer Leviathan, but spending on any product is always worth it, so don’t hesitate bro. Overall, Klipsch Cinema 800 is the best soundbar for Xbox Series X and will provide you with faster sound effects and realistic car sounds while gaming.

Sonos Arc Soundbar (Image credit: Amazon)

Sonos Arc Soundbar

Premium Smart Soundbar

After VIZIO 2.0 (SB3620n-H6), here is the Sonos Arc Soundbar, which is the most expensive soundbar for the Xbox series X console. The Sonos Arc Soundbar is like the ultimate breakthrough in sound stuff, and this boss piece of tech came out in 2020 and brings together all the fancy advancements, a super slick design, and crazy good sound that totally sucks you into your gaming experience.

The Sonos Arc Soundbar features a captivatingly sleek design and easily fits near your Gaming console or gaming PC table. As compared to other listed soundbars, including VIZIO 2.0 (SB3620n-H6), Klipsch Cinema 800, and Razer Leviathan, the Sonos Arc Soundbar features AI technologies for easy voice control, which makes it possible only with built-in voice assistant capabilities (Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa) which you can utilize only for hands-free control. So, under the $900 range, this voice-controlling feature is unique for adjusting volume, changing tracks, or dim lights via voice. In particular, it stands out for its center channel, purposefully designed for flawless vocal reproduction. And if you thought that was impressive, the Dialogue enhancement tool takes it a step further by making sure conversations are front and center. Not only that, the Sonos Arc Soundbar also compensates for the acoustics in your room for good sounding.

So overall, the Sonos Arc soundbar is on the expensive side but filled with more features and is a dialogue-centric masterpiece (clear vocals matter most) and increases your Xbox gaming experience as it features Dolby Atmos and DTS:X to make you feel like you are in gaming.

Note: The Sonos S2 app is also available for detailed audio customization.

JBL Bar 9.1 Soundbar (Image credit: Amazon)

JBL Bar 9.1 Soundbar

Best For Ultimate 3D Sound

Let’s talk about the JBL Bar 9.1 Soundbar, which is more expensive than the Sonos Arc Soundbar and has more features. First off, this JBL Bar 9.1 looks pretty sleek, so it’s already a winner in the style department. While testing in the lab, what really captured my attention was its wireless surround speakers that are powered by batteries, which you can also detach them or set up where you need without dealing with wires. You can also remote control the JBL Bar 9.1 soundbar.

Now, let’s get into the technical nitty-gritty. This JBL Bar 9.1 bad boy rocks a 5.1.4 setup – It’s a serious audio beast. With Dolby Atmos and DTS: X decoding, Three-dimensional sound will surely delight you. With JBL Bar 9.1 soundbar, you can easily hear unique sound effects with special abilities, including power-ups or magic spells, which will increase your action.

And don’t even get me started on the wireless connectivity options. Like Sonos Arc, this JBL Bar 9.1 soundbar also features Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Chromecast built-in, and even Apple AirPlay. There is a wireless 10-inch subwoofer, which is like a powerhouse, packing 300W of pure bass punch to feel the beat in your bones when you listen to gaming audio where the room correction feature is also a nice touch for perfect balance between sound and space.

The JBL Bar 9.1 soundbar satellites are all decked out for Atmos content to immerse you in whatever you are gaming. And here’s a neat trick – it can handle stereo files, too, creating an awesome soundstage with the top and front speakers. Those up-firing channels are no joke either – they bring files like Dolby Digital to life.

For Spotify lovers, there is bad news: this JBL Bar 9.1 does not support built-in Spotify Connect integration, but still, with all the other options, it’s not a deal-breaker. So, as JBL Bar 9.1  is another expensive option but still under the $1000 range, it is the best soundbar for Xbox Series X.

Sony HT-A7000 7.1.2ch Soundbar (Image credit: Amazon)

Sony HT-A7000 7.1.2ch Soundbar

Best for 360 Spatial Sound Mapping

After JBL Bar 9.1 Soundbar, here is the Sony HT-A7000 Soundbar, which is also on the expensive side. The HT-A7000 has an elegant design and sleek look, while there is a front metal grill that exudes modernity and style. The HT-A7000 overall has a 51-inch width, which is perfect for a gaming setup, while fabric covers on the sides and top-firing speakers elevate the soundbar look. So overall, the HT-A7000 seamless blend of fabric covering and a glossy finish on top adds to its overall appeal.

On the HT-A7000 soundbar, there are six touch-sensitive controls conveniently located on the top, including Volume, Bluetooth Pairing, Input selection, and Power, so audio management is made easier than ever. You will find subtle yet functional blue LED displays on the front grill discreetly providing crucial information such as volume levels, selected input, and surround sound mode, ensuring you’re always in control. With the HT-A7000 soundbar, you will easily hear detailed gaming sound visuals like Vehicles and Engines, so whether you are playing Racing games, from the sound of engines revving to tires screeching or acceleration to braking, all sounds can easily be heard.

The heart of the Sony HT-A7000 lies in its 11 powered speaker channels for rich, immersive sound to envelop you. There are five front-facing speakers, two up-firing speakers, two specialized “beam” tweeters, and an internal dual-channel subwoofer so that this HT-A7000 soundbar will give you a gaming sound experience with superb audio clarity.

While the Sony HT-A7000 may not boast the extensive features found in counterparts like the JBL Bar 9.1 Soundbar or Sonos Arc Soundbar in the $1000 range. But only I have tested and recommended you Sony HT-A7000 for your Xbox console due to its sound clarity and functionally, and I found hundreds of positive reviews on Amazon for the HT-A7000.

Sonos Beam (Gen 2) (Image credit: Amazon)

Sonos Beam (Gen 2)

Beautiful and Compact

After the Sony HT-A7000, here is the Sonos Beam (Gen 2) Soundbar for the Xbox X gaming console, which is a more beautiful and sleek piece (I like it). On Sonos Gen 2, you will find touch-sensitive buttons and integrated LEDs, which are for providing intuitive control and status feedback. The Sonos Beam (Gen 2) comes with far-field microphones, so you can effortlessly command Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant for hands-free voice control.

The Connectivity is a breeze with Sonos Beam (Gen 2) as it features Ethernet and HDMI eARC ports. However, its integration into the Sonos wireless multiroom system really sets the Sonos Beam (Gen 2) apart. So, I will recommend you to pair it with other Sonos speakers to streamline your audio experience. The power of control lies in the Sonos S2 app to provide you with easy management and good functionality.

When you use the Sonos S2 app, you’re unlocking this super smart feature called Trueplay. It’s like magic for your room because it calibrates your sound to perfection. Plus, you’ve got a 2-band EQ to tweak things just the way you like. And guess what? You can even see which audio codec is rocking the show right there on your screen, all in real time.

The Sonos Beam (Gen 2) supports a wide range of audio formats, including Stereo PCM, Dolby Digital, Dolby Atmos, and more. The Gen 2 soundbar also features built-in Apple AirPlay 2 and Spotify Connect functionalities, so whichever device you select, the soundbar always offers seamless streaming, while Amazon Music Ultra HD audio boosts your gaming music. So overall, the Sonos Beam (Gen 2) does not just play sound; it creates a whole new dimension of motion, depth, and space while you play games like ARMORED CORE™ VI FIRES. All possible due to Gen 2 improved central tweeter; every note and nuance is finely articulated.

Samsung HW-Q800A (Image credit: Amazon)

Samsung HW-Q800A

Best Samsung Q Series Soundbar

Now, after Sonos Beam (Gen 2), here is a Samsung HW-Q800A. A soundbar like the Samsung HW-Q800A makes a great gaming companion for the Xbox Series X. The HW-Q800A offers a compact design with a robust grilled finish where its coming subwoofer may feel you bulky in design.

The HW-Q800A features Dolby Atmos and DTS:X support to greatly produce three-dimensional audio that realizes the game world, so whether you are playing action-packed games or exploring open-world environments, HW-Q800A will always feel you like you are in the middle of the action.

The HW-Q800A comes with a wireless subwoofer that delivers deep, powerful bass. So, while gaming like GTA V, you will enjoy dynamic and realistic elements of gaming sound effects like explosions, gunshots, and in-game sounds. The HW-Q800A is supporting eARC (Enhanced Audio Return Channel) connectivity for high-quality audio transmission between the Xbox X series console and the HW-Q800A soundbar.

There are HW-Q800A up-firing height channel drivers, and it has a Built-in 8-inch driver for amazing sound. The HW-Q800A offers basic connectivity options, including two HDMI inputs, HDMI output with eARC support, Optical digital audio input, and a 5V USB port. The HW-Q800A features 3.1.2 channels and delivers 330W of total audio output.

With HW-Q800A support Adaptive Sound+/Space, you can optimize room sound, and there is also an Automatic Voice Amplifier included, which is for adjusting dialogue volume (Based on background noise levels). So overall, the HW-Q800A soundbar is easy to set up and comes with or without rear speakers (Optional), and in price range, it is cheaper than HW-Q950A and good for gaming sound.

Bose Smart Soundbar 900 (Image credit: Amazon)

Bose Smart Soundbar 900

Best for Wireless Streaming

After HW-Q800A, here is another best Soundbar for Xbox series X, which is the Bose Smart Soundbar 900. If we talk about the design of this Bose Soundbar, then you will find it much sleeker and more beautiful as it has tempered glass on top and available in black or white colors. The Bose Smart 900 is 41 inches long and 4 inches deep, while its total height is 2.3 inches, which is only good for 50-inch or 50-inch + smart televisions.

The Bose Smart 900 is a Dolby Atmos Soundbar that includes side-firing and up-firing drivers, which are great for gaming audio, so more sound will be spread in your area. Bose never forgot to add Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant for voice management under the $700 price range.

The Bose Smart 900 feeds you with a bunch of connectivities, including HDMI eARC connectivity, Wi-Fi, and two-way Bluetooth streaming, but never feeds and includes multiple HDMI input options, which is not good under this price. You can also connect separate Bose Bass Modules and Bose Surround Speakers, but if you think to connect a separate Samsung subwoofer or other third-party subs with it, then this is not possible bro. For 24/7, there is a Bose companion application available, which you can utilize, but this Bose application may disappoint you as it features a limited number of streaming services and is less easy to use than the Sonos application.

While testing the Bose Smart Soundbar 900 in a lab of Wooster audio, I played some games as I played before for the Sonos Arc soundbar and found a similar sound performance than the Sonos soundbar. I am not saying the Bose Smart 900 is not performing well, but still, I can say you will get sound improved with calibration (Bass adjustments may be required). Both Bose Smart 900 and Sonos Arc neither can replicate true surround sound. Exert says that while playing movies With Sonos Arc, you may have issues with dialogue voice clarity, whereas the Bose soundbar will provide you with more natural and decipherable voice performance.
